The import duty of computers dropped one half -- iPad levy 500 yuan the most
The State Council Tariff Commission make an announcement yesterday, said, from 27 January the tax rate of the information technology products and camera was adjusted from twenty percent to ten percent. This means the import duty of iPad which has being closely attended drop from 1000 yuan down to 500 yuan.
The State Council Tariff Commission has not said the reasons of adjusting the tax rate. The notification's inscribe date is 24 January and it has been sent to General Administration of Customs.

Besides, aim at iPad productions, dutiable value will be adjusted according to different products. Before this, customs identified iPad as Computer products that suitable for dutiable value of five thousand yuan. That is to say the tax rate at that time is twenty percent and it need to pay one thousand yuan tax. But the fact is there many iPad productions that value only about three thousand yuan. This contradiction caused attention from all circles in society.
